In August 2008 a couple of beautiful pale headed rosellas moved into
the roof cavity of my house. Their names are Chuck and Cherrie.
They have set up their nest and now raise their chicks here each year. In June each year, when I get up to make tea in the morning I can hear Chuck and Cherrie working on the nest (made from the paper insulation in the ceiling); hear the idle chatter in song and watch as the
breeding pair make my humble home theirs. Then the chicks hatch - from this year you will be able to hear and see their plaintive cries and see Chuck and Cherrie bringing up their young in the wild, in real time, through this page (below).
Taken at sunset in late June 2010 in the winter rain... two lorikeet parrots preening outside Cherrie's nest.
The
breeding pair have returned and soon their lives will be relayed here in real
time. For NEWS updates and video clips take the NEWS link above.
