I have a hedge of grevilleae surrounding my home. They are blooming with yellow flowers dripping with sweet sugar.. perfect parrot food! Each morning I wake up to the sound of lorikeets, their music and that of the Kookaburra fills the air. This is my life. My house backs on to the large, sprawling Toohey forest just a few kilometres from the Brisbane CBD. This forest is the sanctuary for many criters including possums who pound the roof at night but also some amazing birdlife - including the beautiful rosella.
Chuck (seen right) and Cherrie have honoured me by choosing the roof cavity of my home as their nest...
